What I wore: blue cardigan and ballet flats

Y'all.  I am happy happy happy to be back with another #WhatIWore post for y'all!  I really love doing these posts so much because, while I am definitely no model, I do enjoy the opportunity to shop in my closet and put together fun outfits.

I really loved this one so much.  I have started to really love the open cardigan thing and frankly, I have got to be careful not to start a little collection.  And the weather is a little bit warmer this week, so I don't feel the need to be bundled up in a parka and sweat pants 24/7.

Reese's Spreads: a review

Happy Tuesday, y'all!!  We're back after a long and relaxing weekend that was much needed around the Thrift for Today house.  I was recovering from a pretty yucky cold that had me out for a couple of days.

One of the fun things I had the chance to do this weekend was to try this yummy #ReesesSpreads peanut butter chocolate spread!  I received this recently, courtesy of Influenster to try and I was excited to test it out!

Ironically, I got this chocolate spread just as I am trying to get more fruits and veggies into my diet, so I paired it with green apples for an afternoon snack.

I am sometimes wary of candy-branded things that are different from the original candy, but this tastes just like Reese's cups.  I also let my sister and hubs try this out and they agreed that it tastes just like the candy.  In fact, I think my sister is happy to eat it with a spoon, so there's that...

Painting the laundry room (and other house projects for the new year)

We've got lots of lists around here.  We've got personal goals lists, we've got a family goals list, and we've got a house goals list.

The personal and family goals list tend to take precedent, but I did take some time to sit down and make a list of all the things I'd like to do and projects I'd like to tackle around the house.  These are in order (yet) and won't all get done this year, but I like having them written down.  And since I've shared the rest of the house work here with you, I'm excited to share the laundry room update with you as well.

This came as a somewhat spontaneous decision a couple Saturdays ago when we had just gotten home from a family snow tubing trip to the mountains.  Since one of my bro-in-laws was at the house, and was going to stay for some NFL playoff games, I took the opportunity of having two strong men that could move a washer and dryer to get this checked off our list.

Winter Weddings

Y'all.  We love weddings around here.  And that makes sense because weddings are full of things that we love.  Marriage, friends, food, dancing (usually), and good times.  We've been to so many weddings over the past few years, although most of them are in the spring/summer (remember that time we had 4 weddings in June?!)

This year, though we had the opportunity to go to two weddings in December - one for an old roommate of the hubs, which was a lovely morning wedding just before Christmas, and another for my very best friend in high school, which was a very festive New Year's Eve bash!  Both were so beautiful, meaningful, and really fun.  I don't have a ton of photos, but I did manage to snap a few that I think perfectly capture some of the styles of each of these events.

Blogging for no one...again (and other goals for the new year)

Almost 2 years ago, I had a little coming back to the blog.  It was February 2013 and I wrote this post about what I called then, "blogging for no one".  In it, I talked a little about the journey of the blog, and how I wanted to get back into it, but slowly...just writing about things that I wanted to write about.

And if I'm honest, 2013 was THE YEAR for this old blog.  I learned so much that year.  I made so many great bloggy friends, had really consistent posts, and had an awesome time keeping it up.  And then in 2014, I still wanted to keep it up, but frankly, I became less consistent.  I got a new job.  We picked up other social activities.  Hubs got a new job.  And especially in the last half of the year, I didn't even want to turn the computer on when I got home from work, much less turn it on to write meaningful things that people would read.
