Homemade bbq chicken pizza

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a fun weekend!  It's cold all of a sudden around here, but our weekend was packed with fun!  My sisters spent the whole day with us on Sunday and we got to have lunch with a couple of neighbors on Saturday at a fun brunch place in town.

We're working hard to keep the posts regular over here.  Today I'm excited to share what a homemade pizza recipe that has become a staple in our meal plans these days.   I really think I love pizza more now that we make it at home and while I do still love restaurant pizza now and then, I would rather have homemade than frozen any day of the week.

One of the best things about making your pizza at home is that the options are close to limitless in terms of what you put on top.  We do pepperoni quite often because that's easy to keep in the fridge and hubs likes it.  Sometimes I add some veggies like peppers or artichokes.  And sometimes we mix it up and have another favorite: barbecue chicken pizza.

Five on Friday: back in business

Happy Friday!  I am feeling good about le blog again, friends.  I realize that the posting still isn't back up to the frequency of its prime, but I am finally feeling good about writing and remembering to take photos of things and happenings in the day to day to share here.

So today, I'm glad to finally be able to jump back into the Five on Friday game with you all to share this week's top 5 in photos and storytelling.  I'm also linking up to lots of other fun top 5 groups today.  Those links are in the bottom of the post.

ONE.
Homemade pizza. We've been making pizza over here on the weekends pretty regularly these days.  We've been doing it so much so that I really prefer this to going out for pizza and it's becoming a fast go-to when I'm not sure what to cook, but need something quick.  The thing I mostly like about this is that you can really make it how you want it.  We have pepperoni a lot since it's the hub's fave, but every now and then we mix it up.  This week, it was bbq chicken pizza on the menu.  Yum in my tum  It was so delicious.  I'll have to share the details here in another post.

Breakfast on the go: Quaker breakfast flats review

Happy Monday!  We had a fun filled and way too fast weekend over here.  Hub's family came over to celebrate his mom's birthday which meant that I made this yummy cheesecake that I've been waiting for any excuse to make and we got to spend lots of family time.

I also got to try these new little snacks from Quaker courtesy of Influenster.  Y'all know I love a good mail day and I especially love mail that involves packages of fun things.

I was really excited to get these breakfast bars in the mail to try as a new snack to have on hand here for on the go, but was a little skeptical at first, because I don't tend to be a fan of the crunchy breakfast bars, but rather prefer the chewier granola ones.

A[nother] leap year in review | What I Wore

Happy March, my friends!  I can't totally get my head around the fact that it is March already, but here we are and I am ready to embrace it and spring and flowers and sunshine and all the goodness that comes with this season!

This year is especially fun because it was leap year - which basically means a free day in the year.  And since hubs and I started dating 8 years ago on leap day, it's a super special day for us.  You may remember, if you so happened to be around 4 years ago, that on our first leap year anniversary, hubs planned a super awesome walk down memory lane for us.  If you don't remember, no worries.  Just catch up here.

This year things were a little different, but we still took the whole day off of work and still sent the little to his babysitter so we spent the whole day together to celebrate.  It was SO fun to get out of the house and the weather was PERFECT - high 60s with lots of sunshine.

We started our day by all sleeping in a little late,  then we took the little to his babysitter.  After, we went to get a new car battery (romantic, I know, but the practical things gotta get done, too), then went to Home Goods to pick up lots of frames to work on a gallery wall I've been wanting to create on our stairwell.  (We had some professional photos taken, and we had to get rid of our living room gallery wall recently when we bought new bookshelves - more on that to come.)
